Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun Jass Richards Books
Jass Richards has written a fun, lively collection of dog stories, tied together by Brett, a woman who’s had a hard time hanging on to traditional jobs. She already has two dogs, Kessie and Snookums, and she likes nothing better than to hang out with them. Why not make this interest an enterprise and get paid for something she loves?Brett easily acquires four regular “customers,” Chum, Hunk, Little Miss, and Spunk, and they rotate their daily activities between going to the beach, dog park, field, or whatever else comes along. And plenty of other things come along.
Jacko won’t leave his property, Carson won’t come into the house, Rosie is a depressed former race dog. Biscuit refuses to go on walks, and Winner, a blue-and-grey Australian shepherd is an over-achieving herder. Amber is a distraught search-and-rescue dog, Toby a wall-flower unless he has his turtle costume on. Cookie, a puppy-mill casualty, sees the light of day, probably for the first time in her life. Can Brett and the pack help Bo and his person compete in serious frisbee competition? And can Brett and her pack help Nisha, a blind lab, swim again?
The author’s descriptions of the various breeds and their problems are poignant and heart-warming. As a dog lover, I enjoyed the stories In Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun and could relate to many of the situations. The main human character, Brett, is funny in a caustic, quirky sort of way, with a heart for dogs in need and a propensity for knowing how to have fun with them.

Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun Jass Richards Books Reviews
This was a cute collection about a dog walker and the dogs she walks. The descriptions of the dogs antics will definitely give you some laughs.
This book tells the story of a woman and her pack.
Unemployed, she decides to become a dog walker.
In this book she recounts in a funny way several stories of dogs that she helped rehabilitate.
I liked this book!
I won this e-book through a LibraryThing giveaway in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This book was seriously funny, but there was a lot of repetition throughout. Brett is always getting fired from her job. Since she has two dogs she walks anyway, she decides to become a dog walker. The story follows her adventures or misadventures as a dog walker and all the antics the dogs she walks get involved in. I liked the idea, but I did not find enough variety and new things in the story to hold my interest. It seemed as if someone had told the author who was relating experiences as a dog walker to write a book and the author did just that. However, the book was great for the first chapter or two as we saw all the strange and hilarious things the dogs did, but, after that, it became just more of the same. I think there was enough material there. I just think the author did not present is as well as could be. I received this from Library Thing to read and review.
Actual rating 3 and a half stars.
I'm a mild asthmatic and have a sever allergy to dogs, actually all mammals. So I've never had the real experience of just hanging out with dogs, for me I can stay for a minute and pet you but you can't touch my clothes or I'll be wheezing all night. So for the most part I have to stay away from them, this novel game me the experience of what I hope being around dogs would be like.
Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun is about Brett (Brett's a girl) and she is constantly getting fired from jobs, and she owns two dogs and happens to love dogs. Why not become a dog-walker? She soon acquires a few loveable mutts and goes on many grand adventures with them. All the while finding broken down animals and finding them good homes to people who need the dogs as much as the dogs need them. She also makes friends with fellow dog lovers.
The story has a slightly feminist twist to it. Not like ALL MEN ARE EVIL AND WOMAN SHOULD RULE THE WORLD, not that sort of thing just very mild. Such as at a job interview the interviewer asked her why she hadn't worn a skirt and she considers rolling up her pant legs but decides against it because the sight of a womans hairy legs might send him into a fit. Or theres a small part about being pro-choice, that kind of felt out of place amongst the story. Then she gets in a fight with a guy about driving a car, I understand her reasoning for it but I'm pretty sure she did it because she felt the guy needed to be put in his place.
It was sweet to see the broken down animals that Brett managed to bring back to life through love and devotion. Especially Cookie, who was found at a puppy mill and had been the birth mother to more puppies then she should of had. They found her in a sorry state, and slowly bought her back and let her live the puppy hood that she never had before. It was touching.
I didn't really see Brett as sarcastic, if anything she just had a really dry humor. The dogs in the story are what made me laugh but some of Bretts comments had me smiling.
